Lion City
Do you know which country is called lion city? It is Singapore! It all started years ago when a prince was sailing and suddenly he saw a lion head and he headed towards it and then he found out that is was actually a island. He named the island Singa pura because lion, in Tamil is Singa and pura means island. Then people made different versions of the name, for example, Singapore is in English and Singa pura is in Tamil. From a small fishing village, we have now flourish into a big and well-known city.
